A US bingo player who wished not to be named won an incredible 2.5 million jackpot bingo prize and is currently celebrating his historic win, thought to be the largest bingo prize ever. Ivor Fulhouse, 35, was overjoyed at his bingo win.
“It was amazing” he said. “Only thirty balls had been called and I needed just one more number for a super coverall. I had already called bingo for the smaller prizes by getting one and two lines, so was already happy. Then number 13 came out and BINGO. I’d won!”.
Ivor nearly lost out on the big bingo jackpot though as he explains. “I was sitting at the table with my bingo card and dauber in front of me when someone sitting opposite had a nose bleed. Obviously I pulled out my handkerchief to give to her and my daubing pen fell on the floor. It was as I bent down to get the pen that I bashed my head on the table giving me slight double vision. When 13 was called I looked at my card and thought the number 13 on my card had changed to 31!” Fortunately, Iris Winalot, 78, saved the day. “Dear old Iris, bless her, gave me a quick bash on the head with her handbag and my vision returned to normal.”
When asked what he intended to do with the money, he was unsure but thought he might at least buy a couple of beers and of course a gin and tonic for Iris. “You know I don’t think the bingo win will change my life too much and I will still continue to play bingo every day. Bingo is my game and I just love chatting to other bingo players and the thrill of winning bingo never stops.”
